Women’s Cancer Fund

Feeling Beautiful is able to give priority assistance to patients in financial need through our affiliation with the Women’s Cancer Fund. Americans with cancer experience higher out-of-pocket costs than do patients with any other chronic life-threatening illness.

Financial toxicity, defined as the patient-level impact of the cost of cancer care, is a new term in the field of oncology that describes this growing phenomenon. It is measured by objective out-of-pocket expenses, as well as subjective emotional distress, associated with cancer care and treatment.

The Women’s Cancer Fund gives priority to paying the essential patient-level expenses of food, housing, utilities, and transportation for those who demonstrate need.

Nutrition Over Cancer

Feeling Beautiful understands the critical importance of nutrition in the cancer recovery journey. A 2016 meta-analysis of cancer studies found a typical Western diet is positively associated with higher mortality from cancer. These studies suggest that adherence to a healthy dietary pattern (assessed predominantly prior to cancer diagnosis) is inversely associated with overall mortality, whereas an unhealthy Western dietary pattern is positively associated with risk of overall mortality among cancer patients.

Nutrition Over Cancer is a collaboration of:

  • Major corporate sponsors in the health foods/healthy living sector and
  • Oncology healthcare partners
  • Registered Dietetic Nutritionists/Certified Specialists in Oncology

who work together to directly educate, empower, and encourage cancer patients and their families to adopt health-producing lifestyles and dietary practices and teach the same disciplines to all Americans.

These important affiliations allow Feeling Beautiful to meet real and pressing whole-person needs. It’s part of what takes us beyond looking good to feeling good.

It's time to make Feeling Beautify our priority. Let's bring renewal to cancer patients together.

Your support will directly help patients in need focus on healing.
